Demonstration Sites announced

After some strong competition we are pleased to announce that the Preparing for Adulthood demonstration sites have now been chosen.

We had 22 expressions of interest for 9 regions, so it was difficult to choose.  We really wanted a range of sites that covered both rural and urban areas, with a mixed demographic that could give us the best opportunity to demonstrate what is possible in delivering the PfA reforms; and to offer support to deliver real progress over the next 9 months in a number of key priority areas:

  • Exemplar Local Offers around PfA
  • Exemplar EHC Plans around PfA,
  • Progress on integration and strategic joint commissioning between education, health and care and between children's and adult services.
  • Strategic engagement of parent/carers and young people around PfA
  • Employment and paid work for young people
  • Progress on thinking creatively around personal budgets and personalisation linked to PfA
